Nature and Wildlife Areas

Ireland's Eye serves as a protected sanctuary for thousands of nesting seabirds and local marine life.

The island is a designated Special Protection Area covering 28 hectares (69 acres). Because it is completely uninhabited by humans, wildlife thrives here from spring through autumn.

Visitors must stay on designated paths to avoid trampling ground-nesting birds. Dogs are not allowed on the island due to its status as a sensitive bird sanctuary.
